First time visiting DXE outlet at Jem
3 adults shared a half angelica roast duck, french bean with salted fish and fish maw soup. The dishes were all delicious and the french bean really had that wok hei. Delicious.
Service was polite and friendly too. No wonder its always quite crowded. Recommend
The food is nice, esp the roast duck. (Would be quite funny to come here and not eat duck, their signpost is that of a duck, indicating their speciality).
The dang gui ya was nicely flavoured with a herbal sauce. The sauce can be overwhelming, would have preferred a non sauce version of the roast duck, with a tinge of angelica roots instead.
The fried kang kong and crispy fishskin was surprisingly good. It was paired with raw onions and a tangy Thai style sauce.
Love the kang kong with belacan. The kang kong was tender and did not have lots of big stems.
The seaweed tofu was ok. The one with luffa was also good.
The kailan with lime and salted fish tasted weird cos of the sour taste for a veg.
Their roast duck with herb is their house specialty. Tried their duck with Angelica herb this time, and found the duck meat, IMHO a tab dried. But when you accompanied the duck with their tangy chili sauce, together with crispy skin which had the fat rendered, it was superb! We also ordered the Chinese spinach in conpoy and anchovy stock. The veggie was crunchy and the soup was tasty with just the right umami. No MSG, and salt attack after lunch 😊
We, my niece, my husband & I were having lunch in the restaurant. Thanks to the servers for their great services. The food was superb. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. Where the area we were seated was spacious and allowed us space & time for family catch-up chat. We really appreciate their services and delicious food. We were definitely back to this restaurant soon. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great place to have dinner. The food is delicious and the service is good. We really loved the ten herb roasted duck - it's very fragrant and tasty!
Nice Duck, great Char siew and enjoyed the Tomato and Egg a lot too. Overall good food, but a little crowded in the restaurant located above Din Tai Fung on 3rd floor of JEM.
Great place to dine it and food is good. Waiting time wasn’t long and was notified through an online link to monitor the queue status. Food came very quickly despite the weekend crowd. The taste was great and the food quality is also standard across all the rest of Dian Xiao Er. Will definitely be back again for my usual meals.
Visited 24 May 2023, Wednesday hot and sunny at Jem Jurong Gateway. The following sharing are based on our unbiased personal opinion and experience
Today celebrating my MIL birthday 🎂, wife planning for a small dinner so decided to get a roast duck 🦆 for dinner. We order take away for 1 whole duck.
So far one of the better roast duck 🦆 we recommend to try when your on Singapore. In terms of taste and presentation Dian Xiao Er is keeping their standard well I would say.
Overall a good dining experience served with tasty dishes. Not the cheapest option but willing to pay if the food is good.
